The motel was originally a 50's motor court with a new "space-age" facade on the street... reminding us that we were near the atomic test site of Los Alamos!
The casitas were connected by a new interior garden with generous hot tubs, which we did not use because they were not hot quite enough for our preference... besides, we had a lot to explore outside our lodging.
Unfortunately we'd spent the first afternoon in the Natural History Museum, where many exhibits were outdated & dark. But, next day, the Art Museum proved to be impressive beyond our expectations. While it had the predictability of its geography, it stepped widely outside the lines.
This was best of that class for me...
I simply grok calligraphy...

So... there was holy tyranny... yet again.
A train bell reminded of the BNSF rails which are part of our visual & aural environment in Tacoma...

Several other exhibits tempted us to miss our flight! One was about writing, another about New World Dictators. Then, a large, very well designed exhibit celebrated the entire complexity of the city: geography, history, character, complexion, personality... its art. All needing more time than we had.
More exploration of this fascinating city is obviously warranted, even before hinting that are additional reasons GRB BELLS is anticipating , what might become good news shared in upcoming posts...
